When the first sparks of the carnival ignite in January and our groups dance onto the stages with full energy, many think: This is the highlight – and then there is a break. But far from it! Hardly has the last shower of confetti fallen, we are already starting the planning for the new season. Because our work for the children does not end with the applause – it truly starts then.
The starting shot is early
Even before spring arrives, our trainers brainstorm together with the care teams: Which dances could fit? Which music moves? Which theme will carry us through the year?
It is not only about movement but also about creativity, community, and the question: How do we create an environment where every child feels seen and valued?
The fitting tracks are edited, first steps choreographed, training plans created. Simultaneously, we focus on further training. We are especially proud of our participation in the Juleica training – because we care not only about the children’s dance development but also about their protection and well-being.
Safety first
A milestone: In 2025, we will become the first club in Saarland to introduce a mandatory first aid course specifically for children for all our trainers and carers. A strong sign of responsibility – and a promise to parents and children: Your loved ones are in the best hands with us.
Taster trainings & first encounters
In spring, our trial trainings begin. New children get to know us and our work and receive a thoughtfully compiled information folder – including team profiles, important contact details, and an emergency sheet. This way, we build trust and clarity from the very start.
A year full of experiences
The year is rich in activities – and each event is more than just a scheduled item. Our dance trainings strengthen body awareness and discipline. Excursions and leisure activities promote cohesion. At Easter, we celebrate with a cheerful children's festival where the entire club comes together.
We are also active outside the training rooms – for example, in projects like “Saarland Picobello” or our Youth Day, where we address important topics such as bullying, conflicts, group dynamics, and play pedagogy. Because prevention work with our youth is important to us to sustainably strengthen the groups.
Summer with heart
A real highlight is our summer festival with a charity run for children with cancer – an event that connects, moves, and does good. Afterwards, we take a well-deserved three-week summer break.
Autumn & Christmas joy
Back from the break, it goes straight on with new events where we perform or assist – also to help fill our club's funds. In autumn, the intense phase of performance preparations for September and October begins.
In November, we host our big Christmas baking event – a whole day where our youngest children up to the juniors bake cookies together. What isn't eaten immediately is served at the Christmas party at cost price.
And then... Session!
January brings the grand finale: Session!
One performance follows another, countless kilometers are traveled, props are prepared, costumes checked, children are made up and motivated. The parades also take place – a highlight for many!
By the end of the year, around 3,500 volunteer hours have been dedicated by our team for the children, the community, and the culture.
Because we love it. For our kids. For the joy. For the togetherness.
