On Friday, 10 November 2023, our 1st Senators' Ball took place at the Kulturhalle in Völklingen/Wehrden.

For this internal club event, our members, both young and old, as well as our senators were invited. We were also pleased to welcome our regional representative from Völklingen/Warndt, Ilhan Özpamuk, as well as Amy Kunz from the VSK youth. The festively decorated hall opened its doors at 7:11 p.m.

All guests were personally welcomed by President Andreas Chandoni and invited to a champagne reception. Promptly at 8 p.m., we began our festive program. Our moderator Diana Chandoni once again guided the evening confidently and charmingly. Right at the start, a star guest was announced: DJ Ötzi double Dietmar Lafontaine energized the hall massively. Our mini-dancer Alessya Hellriegel made her first appearance. She danced her way into everyone's hearts. She is trained by Ashley Kettschau and Charleen Schlöder, with Jana Zwetzich and Tobias Heib as supervisors.

Of course, the representatives of our club, the Fährmann and his wife, were also present, having traveled specially from Sweden. With their very beautiful and custom-made costumes, they did not miss the opportunity to participate in the evening. In their usual rhymed speech, they greeted our guests in a humorous manner. On this evening, we finally made up for our anniversary event 6x11Years, which had to be canceled due to Corona. To correspond with this, Fidelius gave the laudation. In the background, a PowerPoint presentation (compiled by Dietmar Lafontaine) with many pictures telling the history of the club was shown. Next, our minis appeared on stage as a band of monkeys. They were so cute and did their first performance wonderfully! They are trained by Ashley Kettschau and Charleen Schlöder, with Jana Zwetzich and Tobias Heib as supervisors. Our youth guard danced as angels and devils, also making their first stage appearance. You did a great job! They are trained by Sophie Chandoni and Carolin Wassmuth, with Jeanette Kettschau and Saskia Kiefer as supervisors. During the break, delicious food was served, delivered by Edeka Lorenz Geislautern. The evening was musically accompanied by all-rounder Volker Dittlinger. Further in the program, the second half of the evening focused on honors. Sven Hellriegel was appointed as the new honorary senator, with the laudation given by honorary senator Werner Becker. He has been driving our large senators' truck at the carnival parades for several years and has since held the title "Best Trucker of the World" with us. We warmly welcome you to the Rosselanos family! Honored for 1x11 years were: Doris and Gerd Thom, Ilhan Özpamuk, Josefine, Marie, Maja, Lisa and Dieter Altpeter, Jeanette and Ashley Kettschau, Leon Schwehm, Paula and Linda Berg, and Sophie Chandoni.

Honored for 2x11 years were: Karsten Kettschau, Dirk and Tanja Berg, as well as Frederik Chandoni.
Honored for 3x11 years were: Monika and Stefan Bollbach, Jessica Molter, Gabi and Christel Diehl, Gabriele and Michael Wahl, Andreas Schwehm, Diana and Andreas Chandoni.
Honored for 4x11 years was Ingrid Schwehm.

All those honored received a newly designed honorary pin with the Ferryman emblem in bronze, silver, gold, and gold with stones, as well as honorary certificates.

The design was created by our honorary senator Willi Da Silva Borges.

Our youth mariechen Jana Zwetzich danced for them, who already demonstrated her skills in the 2nd session. She is trained by Jeanette Kettschau and Sophie Chandoni, with Karsten Kettschau as supervisor. The next highlight was already ready: none other than Fidelius, aka Christoph Lesch, rocked the hall. You were great as always! We saved a very special honor for last, namely the awarding of the Chief’s Order.

This year, a truly emotional, touching, and goosebumps-inducing moment. We congratulate you from the bottom of our hearts, dear Manfred Becker! Surprise succeeded, dear Manne!!!

As the final performance of the evening, our active members presented a show dance. They danced to the theme "The Lion King." This group was on stage together for the first time as well, a fantastic achievement. They are trained by Jeanette Kettschau and Kathrin Wassmuth, with Karsten Kettschau as supervisor. The costumes were designed and sewn by Jeanette Kettschau. Finally, some thoughts on volunteering: all trainers and supervisors invested approximately 1,020 hours in youth work from May to October 2023. A big thank you to our youth leader Karsten Kettschau, who holds everything together with enthusiasm and tireless dedication! We would also like to thank all the helpers, without whom such events would not be possible. Thanks to: the setup and takedown team, kitchen team, servers, bar team, technical team, janitor, webmaster, DJ, all parents who entrust us with their children, all members, sponsors, senators, Edeka Lorenz, trainers, supervisors, youth leaders, and of course the ferry couple. It was a very successful and pleasant event. In this spirit……

Alleh Hopp!
