An unforgettable summer weekend full of joy and community
An eventful, exhausting, yet at the same time beautiful and fulfilling weekend is now behind us – our summer family festival this year was a great success and will remain a fond memory for all of us for a long time.
Already on Friday evening, we started this year very differently than in previous years: instead of the usual routine, we organized an overnight party specifically for the youth for the first time. The young people spent an exciting night full of adventure and fun together. A crackling campfire created a cozy atmosphere, while fun games brought lots of laughter and good spirits. Especially thrilling was the night hike, where everyone wandered through the dark woods with glowing flashlights – a true highlight for young and old alike. Of course, the traditional stick bread at the fire was not missing, freshly prepared and enjoyed by all, keeping the mood alive well into the night.
On Saturday morning, all participants met for a shared breakfast to recharge after the exciting night. Refreshed, we then headed to the nearby sports field, where the highlight of the day awaited us: the 2nd charity run in support of the Youth and Children's Cancer Aid Saar. With great commitment and enthusiasm, young and old ran lap after lap to raise as many donations as possible for this important cause. It was impressive to see how much effort everyone put in – from the small child to the experienced runner – and how deeply they committed themselves to this worthy cause.
After the run, the actual family celebration began in full swing. Under bright sunshine and pleasant summer temperatures, the festival grounds transformed into a colorful oasis of enjoyment. A huge bouncy castle attracted the children, who played and laughed in it with great joy. Water games provided wonderful refreshment during the hot hours, while a foam cannon added even more fun and lively atmosphere. All of this was accompanied by great music that encouraged both young and old to sing along and dance. The cheerful laughter of the children, the warm camaraderie of families and friends, and the many beautiful encounters made this weekend something very special – a true celebration of community.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the helpers who contributed to the success of this weekend with their dedication, to all the runners who invested their energy for a good cause, as well as to all the guests who celebrated along and made this day an unforgettable experience. Without you, this festival would not have been possible – you brought it to life and made it an unforgettable event! We are already looking forward to the next summer family festival!
